My own recommendation:  I think all of the books I have for sale are great books for their purposes, but this one is by far the most detailed and eye opening one I have read.  It will give you many ideas of how to do your own bonsai, care for them, what to watch for and the history and meaning of bonsai.  I Highly Recommend this book.
