This is a Japanese Red Pine Bonsai Tree, also known in Japan as Akamatsu.  It is hardy to zone 4.  The Red Pine needles is very similar in looks to the black pine, but they are much softer to the touch.  I don't really need to say much about this bonsai, since the photos can tell you more and better than I can.  It is in the informal upright style, with well set branching and nice trunk movement.  It is 15" tall and 16" wide.  The base is approximately 3" and the trunk at the first branching is 1 1/2".  It is planted in akadama in a 12x8" oval Korean mica pot.
